Global Ecotechnics Corporation
Building Sustainable Futures
Who We Are
At Global Ecotechnics Corporation, our mission is to pioneer the integration of complex systems science, technology, and planetary stewardship. We are dedicated to creating harmonized interactions between human innovation and the biosphere, advancing sustainable solutions that support life on Earth. Through applied research, ecological and architectural design, and global educational outreach, we strive to inspire and implement practices that regenerate ecosystems, foster resilient communities, and ensure a thriving planet for future generations.
Since the early 1970s, the directors of Global Ecotechnics Corporation have been pioneers in the integration of complex systems science, technology, and planetary stewardship. Our work focuses on creating harmonized interactions between human technologies and the biosphere, the planetary system that sustains all life.
Global Ecotechnics is a private company with decades of experience in:
Applied research and development of materially-closed ecological systems (biospheres), including the design, construction, and operation of environments where life-supporting processes are internally regulated and recycled.
Design and management of agroecological and sustainable forestry demonstration sites, integrating ecological principles into the design of productive and sustainable agricultural and forestry systems, implemented in different biomes—building blocks of the biosphere.
Educational initiatives and volunteer programs emphasizing biospheric science, ecological systems engineering, sustainable agroforestry, and cross-cultural approaches to ecological resilience and land stewardship.
One of our landmark achievements was the conception, design, construction, and operation of Biosphere 2, the world’s largest closed ecological system and the most comprehensive laboratory ever built for the study of global ecology on 2.5 acres. In addition, we have directed numerous globally relevant projects, including
A 134-acre agroecological farm and organic orchard in Santa Fe, New Mexico
A 1,000-acre rainforest enrichment and sustainable forestry project in Puerto Rico.
A 5,000-acre pastoral regeneration project in Northwest Australia.
A 38-acre Mediterranean conference and retreat center, site of decades of Institute of Ecotechnics conferences, Aix-en-Provence, France.
A cultural hub for the arts and ecology in Bloomsbury, London, United Kingdom.
Wastewater Gardens – a spin-off technology from Biosphere 2
Global Ecotechnics headquarters is located at Synergia Ranch, in the high desert of New Mexico.
October Gallery, London
Since 1979, October Gallery has introduced global audiences to pioneering contemporary artists such as El Anatsui and Rachid Koraïchi. As a hub for the Transvangarde, the Gallery hosts exhibitions, talks, and cultural events exploring new art from around the world.

Tropic Ventures, Puerto Rico
Since 1983, Las Casas de la Selva has been a living experiment in how humans can live with, not against, the rainforest. Project research has shown that wisely managed secondary forests can yield timber without harming biodiversity. The team also support vital conservation work with PR’s rare and endangered plant species.
